My Scarf

My grandma started teaching me how to knit on Monday. We did some practising on her needles with some left over wool she had. Once I'd got the hang of it, she taught me how to cast on to begin a project. Then on Wednesday I started my own scarf. I'd bought some wool last Friday - light purple textured wool, which has actually been quite good to start on as some is thinner and thicker. It hides some of the little mistakes, dropped stitches and the fact that I started with 36 stitches and now have 40. I'm quite proud as I have knitted about 40cm in length now, using 1 and a half of my 10 balls of wool. I think I'll use almost all of them. Fingers crossed that I can get it finished before I leave for France; but with the way that paperwork is going, it looks like I'll at least get that done, if not more!
