Success

Well, the vanilla yoghurt worked! Creamy yoghurt after 12 hours incubating time. I used skim milk so next time we'll try trim milk and we might get a more solid yoghurt like le Niortais likes. Oh, and yes, the vanilla bean powder simply mixed in to the yoghurt itself and tasted just fine in the end, despite that weird brown covering ;)

hey!!! glad it worked out! i looooove the yogurt and am a huge fan of plain, i don't find it tart or missing any flavor - i don't even need to add sugar (although i usually do, i love it flavored with brown sugar).
plus its nice not having an entire garbage can full of yogurt cups! lol
if you try any other recipes let me know, i haven't branched out much cause i like plain so much!

I had the idea to get the yoghurt maker after seeing yours on your blog then seeing one in les soldes! Having never eaten plain yoghurt before I arrived in France, I must admit, I am definitely NOT a fan of the plain variety, but will eat it only if fresh fruit is added. My next one to try is vanilla-banana; I found a recipe and we'll see how it goes!
